JBLE-Fort Eustis Cardboard Regatta 2026
Think you’ve got what it takes to build a boat… out of cardboard and duct tape? Now’s your chance to prove it!
1. All participants must wear U.S. Coast Guard-approved Personal Flotation Devices.
2. Construction materials: Corrugated cardboard only (any thickness). Duct tape only along seams within 3 inches (no full hull covering). No bonded materials.
3. No ballasts (sandbags/similar items).
4. Boats may NOT be painted. Decorations must NOT reinforce the boat and cannot be placed in water.
5. Unsportsmanlike conduct results in disqualification. Paddle contact results in IMMEDIATE disqualification.
6. Boats are subject to inspection. Staff will try to assist teams in meeting compliance.
The Race
Teams begin at pool edge with the boat out of water. At the whistle, launch and paddle down and back the length of the pool. Fastest time wins.
